New Faces on the Museum Team

We’re happy to welcome three new members to the Museum team: David Hernandez, Josh Nomland, and Kylie Head! Read their bios below for a quick introduction and say “hi” next time you see them on campus:

David Hernandez

Finance Manager

“I am a rare breed, a native Prescottonian—plus, my family has been in Yavapai County since the early 1920s. I was raised in Bagdad where my Mom and Dad lived for over 30 years. I attended ‘the’ Arizona State University where I received both a Bachelor’s & Master’s degree in accounting. I worked almost 25 years with Cyprus/Phelps Dodge/ Freeport McMoRan at various locations. The last few years were back in Bagdad where I was the Financial Controller and then Community Development Manager before retiring in 2020. I am married to my lovely wife Lorri and we have two sons who both graduated from Prescott High School. I really enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and wife. Lorri thinks I’m addicted to online shopping and electronic gadgets. I’m looking forward to being part of the team here at Sharlot Hall Museum!”

Josh Nomland

“My name is Josh Nomland and I was born and raised in rural Pennsylvania. I attended Tyler School of Art at Temple  University in Philadelphia. I studied there for three years before deciding neither art school or Philadelphia were right for me. After working several years at an upholstery factory, I decided it was time for a big change and in 2013, I moved out to Colorado. I lived in Gunnison, a small mountain town, for the majority of my nine year stay in Colorado, where I worked on a several hundred acre ranch with 13 private homes. There I had several tasks including gardening, forestry work, machine operation, and all forms of property management. We both grew very tired of our long, frigid winters and wanted a change. We chose Prescott for its weather and proximity to my wife’s family, and moved here in late March. Some of my interests include fishing, kayaking, gardening, and hiking with our two dogs. We are thoroughly enjoying Prescott and excited for our future here.”

Kylie Head

Programs Assistant

“Hi! My name is Kylie and I’m the new programs assistant in the education department. I’m currently a senior at ASU graduating in December and studying anthropology and art history. I’m planning on pursuing a career in museums, so Sharlot Hall Museum is a great place to start! I love to crochet, travel, and read, and I’m very passionate about animals and the planet. One of my life goals is to visit every single national park in the US! I’m super excited to be working at the Museum and look forward to everything I can contribute!”
