Earl Dino Patterson

Katsina and Wood Carving

Dino is from the Hopi Roadrunner and Greasewood Clans.  He was taught carving by his brother and brother-in-law, and has been carving katsinas for more than 30 years.

He gathers his own cottonwood root from the vast washes of Arizona, and he shares his findings with other carvers who are not able to hike the washes anymore.
